Purpose of education is not just to impart skills & knowledge to enable the student to get employment. Media coverage on who got the highest paid job from among the IIT and IIM graduates turns the young mind in the wrong direction.
We must draw their attention to role models who have excelled in their profession and contributed to Society and inspire them to become achievers and add value to the society. For this, education should focus equally on wisdom, humility and such other qualities which will prepare the young for sacrifice and service. Educators and Educational institutions must set good examples of themselves.
Corrupt practices in Education will impact the young minds and distort their value system. Education should enhance the dignity of human life and inspire to lead a righteous life.Once a school student asked Dr.APJAbdul Kalam “Sir when I can realize my dream of living in a corrupt free India?” He told her that she and every one like her should start realizing the dream in each of their homes. We are a one billion people and about 200 million homes. Every member of the home, especially children like her must influence each other to live righteously.
